HEALTH CARE:
In Nebraska
It’s been a busy couple of weeks in Nebraska when it comes to the health care reform debate.
What is VERY clear about what has occurred is that proponents of the bill have been very organized and ensured that there are a large number of attendees present who are for government controlled health care.
A number of organizations, including AARP, Organizing for America, labor unions like the AFL-CIO, and more are all working together to urge the bill’s passage.
At two of the events, both Sen. Ben Nelson’s town hall on Wed., Aug. 19, and the Lincoln Education Association’s rally on Tues., the 25, there were charter buses full of people brought in and many people in attendance were wearing the same t-shirt.
We are still gathering information about both of these events and will be updating with reports in the next few days.
For now a few words about the event on Tuesday at the Capitol.
You can hear a full report from someone who attended the rally by listening to the radio show from Tuesday evening, hosted by Shelli.

It should give all property taxpayers in the City of Lincoln and parents of children attending Lincoln Public Schools serious pause to consider that the teachers who are paid salaries and provided with benefits through those property tax dollars have become so baldly political.
In addition to weighing in politically for all the world to see, the Lincoln Education Association clearly cooperated with a number of other political entities to conduct their rally, including AARP, other labor unions, and President Obama’s Organizing for America.
