UPDATE: This article is generating a lot of interest and of course that is a very good thing. I am concerned, however, that people from other states may be disappointed when they discover the fact this is a particular call to Nebraskans to act.
For those who ARE from outside NE, I can assure you that there are a number of issues I've put forward that are very likely relevant for your state. If I lived elsewhere and I read the information below, I'd be looking into what activities are underway in my state legislature and Governor's office pertaining to health care implementation.
The majority of people know that the health care law is disaster.
People want ACTION but it is clear that too many people are pinning their hopes on far too narrow a field of available options.
Specifically, the majority of people who want to see the health care law relegated to the ash heap of history - where it belongs - are focused on precisely two solutions:
- Attorneys General lawsuit
- Repeal or de-funding by a Republican majority in Congress
If you believe these two remedies are the only ones available and/or that they are they only ones that need to be pursued PLEASE read the following article:
In addition to pointing out the potential problems that could arise with the AGs lawsuit and the reasons relying on repeal of de-funding by Congress has a number of difficulties, I lay out many other options available.
The bottom line: ALL available remedies should be pursued and there are many more available than just these two.
"Buying in" into one or two solutions means people have stopped looking into what else can be done and are not motivated to act any further.
It's time to be as direct as possible:
- IF you believe health care is bad for your life, for Nebraska, and the country, YOUR ongoing action and assistance is VITAL.
- PLEASE help spread the word about relying on either of the two remedies we all know about and work to explain these facts to others.
There is a current action we're asking YOU to help with. The whole effort and the rationale behind it are explained in the article I published yesterday:
To help spread the word beyond the internet, I've created the flyer seen below. What you see here is a snapshot of the single flyer - click anywhere the image below or HERE and a box will pop up asking if you will allow a download. The flyer is formatted two per page in a PDF.
NOTE: If you would like to view the PDF before downloading it OR are having difficulty with the links provided, the flyer is available in direct view format HERE.
Realize that there are people in Nebraska who care about these issues who do not use the internet at all or do so only in a limited way. The only way to let them know about efforts like this is to give them a printed piece of paper. Can YOU think of anyone who may be interested whom you could give a flyer to?
