This Monday evening there are three meetings scheduled, sort of three meetings in one.
**IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN ATTENDING, PLEASE SUBMIT A REQUEST FOR THE ADDRESS USING THE FORM AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS MESSAGE – We don’t post the location on the public site for security reasons.**
I have separated them into three time slots and three events have been posted since not all members will want to attend all three parts.
I do encourage anyone who is thinking about how they can impact the direction of government to consider attending the first of the three parts to find out more about the NE Liberty Watchmen group we are putting together. (Formerly referred to as the "watchdogs" program)
If you would like to attend all three parts of the evening, you can RSVP here. If you prefer to come to one or two of the sections, please RSVP to them separately.
Here are descriptions and links to the individual events listed:
6:30 - 7:30pm
Nebraska Liberty Watchmen (formerly "watchdogs")
If you are interested in working with a team of your fellow citizens to monitor legislation, the local government entities that affect your life, and elected officials, we invite you to attend at 6:30pm.
A number of people in both the Campaign for Liberty and Grassroots in Nebraska group have already indicated an interest in doing so. Some members of Campaign for Liberty were already working to read bills at the Unicameral and the efforts put forth by many to turn folks out at the Sovereignty Resolution are an excellent start to this process.
Here's the plan for the meeting:
Brief review of program goals
Outline of target structure
Next steps
Call for volunteers
For a preview of what can be accomplished in an effort like this, we've invited a grassroots advocate to join us...
Guest: Kaye Beach of Oklahoma
Kaye has been working to affect the legislative process in Oklahoma for two sessions. She has developed working relationships with State legislators like Rep. Charles Key, established a network of contacts, a following by actively engaged citizens, and mustered a growing group of volunteers. Kaye's efforts are starting to pay off. Obviously, she's been a trailer blazer from whom much can be learned.
7:30 - 8:00pm
Meet the Candidate Dave Hunt
Dave has declared his candidacy for Nebraska's 1st Congressional District seat which is currently held by Rep. Jeff Fortenberry. Dave is for a Constitutional, limited government, a former Eagle Scout still actively involved in Boy Scouting, a Nebraska business man, and not a "professional politician". Seems like a guy most of us would like to get to know better and potentially support. The primary election is May 11.
8:00 - 9:00pm
Grassroots in Nebraska and Campaign for Liberty Joint Projects
Review of Sovereignty Resolution efforts
Status of LR 292
Review of Sunday's efforts, future plans on nullification
April 15 Tea Party
Future event to be announced (information will be given at the meeting)
We welcome civil comments, discussion and debate:
